ALERT Flood Hazard Threshold Information
These data readings are Preliminary|
Compare the Current data columns to the corresponding Flood Stage columns to determine if a creek
in an area of interest to you is near the Flood Stage point. You can also look at current trends on a creek
(is it rising or falling) by going to the
Stream Gauge page and clicking on either the
Reports or Plot link associated with the creek you are interested in.
The message "above Flood Hazard Thresholds" in regards to a gauge reading means that data received from this gauge is showing that floodwaters have exceeded our alert threshold at that location. When this occurs, District personnel are in a heightened state of awareness and monitoring further events. If you are concerned with flooding potential, you can monitor the gauges yourself from our website or you may visually inspect the creek for the next few hours if you can do so from a safe location. |
